Award - Criteria Your site will be judged for an award using the following criteria. If you can answer yes to most of the questions your site may be ready. Main Criteria Item: Site is required to be "family friendly", this is my main criteria. Having a rating is a plus, but also has to be coded as such and not just a "borrowed" graphic. Functionality: Does your site have a good navigation plan? Is there some sort of central theme and not have every page looking like an individual site itself? If you use frames, they need to "work" and getting trapped within the frames is not acceptable. Is it easy to find how to contact the webmaster/mistress? Is the site fully W3C compliant (X)HTML and/or CSS? Does your site provide a site map? Is there a "to top" link on all long pages? Can I reach homepage from anywhere on the site? Graphics: Are any or all of the graphics created by the webmaster Did you use tags for images and graphics? (alt, title, height and width) Text needs to be readable with the background. Usefulness: Web pages that just go nowhere like a page full of pictures of your pet, neighbors cutting the grass, etc. may interest you, but ask yourself "what would others like to see". Miscellaneous: Is your site compatable with more than one browser? If there is a flash intro to the site is there a way to skip or bypass it? Do you have a privacy policy? Do you have a copyright statement? If you have music is there a way to turn it off?
