Disqualifiers
If your website shows one of the disqualifiers listed below, you will be notified. The evaluation will then be put on "stand by" giving you the chance to correct the disqualifying items found.
If you put a checkmark in any of the listings below your site may not qualify for an award.
1. Your site should be in English, alternate English pages, or English translation. I am sorry but that is the only language I can evaluate.
2. You want visitors to respect your site as much as you, so linking to sites that are not family safe and contain any nudity, vulgarity, racism, or hatred viewing will end a evaluation.
3. Since I prefer to evaluate family safe sites I would like your site to have "family safe content" as explained in the criteria.
4. 404 errors, blank pages, under construction messages, or coming-soon signs are obsolete. I understood that a good website is always being updated and worked upon so please try to avoid these.
5. Non-essential pop-ups (such as advertisement, etc.) are annoying and should be avoided. Those imposed by your free server are allowed, as they are not under your control.
6. A quality site should be family safe for viewing and not contain subjects such as nudity, vulgarity, racism, or hatred of any kind or links to such sites as this will end the evaluation.
7. Sites that contain only links and banners are not real content and more is needed to qualify for an award. The site needs to contain at least 5 (five) pages of content besides awards, questbooks, blogs, affiliates, message boards, etc. Content is defined as all kinds of informative, educational and original material.
8. When you apply for an award there should be a place to display them on your site, so an awards section is needed even if you have not won any yet.
9. The use of background music or sounds should have the option of an off-button. Also any programs that attach the the mouse such as Comet Cursors is not courteous to the user.
10. I am sorry but awards cannot be given to applicants below 16 years of age as per C.O.P.P.A.
11. There should not be any INTERNAL dead links or graphics as you can control these so remember to check before you apply.
12. Coding and scripts should not make my computer crash or freeze and cannot be properly evaluated. Also a right-click disabling script as it does not protect anyone from stealing and i'm afraid either will result in ending the review of your site.
