| According to her story, she was born in Havana, Cuba in 1842 and the age of l3 married a U. S. Army officer. Shortly thereafter he died accidentally In June, 1861, dressed as Lt. Harry T. Buford, she made her way to Virginia where she took part in the battle of First Manassas. |
