| General Robinson's Union troops were stationed here on Oak Ridge and held their line against the men of General Rodes, who hammered them with artillery from Oak Hill. This ridge was also occupied by Union General Baxter. As Baxter's supplies eventually dwindled, he was supported by men commanded by General Paul. |
