| Since the beginning of time, the question of Women's equality has been on many minds. In many cultures women were - and in many, still are considered to be of lesser value. A New York representative named Bella Abzug requested that Women's Equality Day be made a national holiday. August 26th was chosen because the movement of women's right to vote occurred on this date in 1920. The holiday goes further in finding ways to remind the country of the equality that should exist between men and women. |
