It is a day to celebrate and show respect for our flag, its designers and makers. At first it was just celebrated by a few states, but in 1916 President Woodrow Wilson established a national Flag Day. A few things to know about flag etiquette areas follows; The flag is normally flown from sunrise to sunset, The flag should not be flown at night without a light on it, The flag should not be flown in the rain or inclement weather, and Never let your flag touch the ground. A few facts about the flag are that there are 13 stripes with 7 red and 6 white. It stands for the original 13 colonies and the stars are the states which are bound together in unity.
