| United Nations Day is usually marked not as a holiday so much as a civic observance. It is a time to reflect on the contributions of the organization, read about their aims and important affairs, and understand what they give to the world as a whole. The United Nations itself was considered an organization just after World War II, and all involved expressed desire to dissolve war and become a world of peaceful coexisting nations. |
